So, what actions are we pursuing to live up to our ethical commitments? Well, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our sustainability initiative, which involves the manufacture of our seamless, fully recyclable wallcoverings. From now on, we will only use materials that are sustainable, beautiful, and made to last. Customers who invest in our products can rest assured that they’re investing in a better, brighter future for the planet. 

FUTURE-PROOF MATERIAL

We care about delivering high-quality products that don’t cost the Earth. At the same time, we want to spread the word about the importance of sustainability. That’s why we print on a 100% polyester textile that is PVC-free, fire resistant and fully recyclable – and why we print each mural only once it has been ordered. 

By printing only on demand, we never make a mural nobody asked for, so there is no unsold stock to throw away. And because the textile is a single recyclable material rather than a laminate, it can be reprocessed at the end of its life instead of going to landfill.

But wait! Our environmental crusade doesn’t stop there. As well as using eco-friendly yarn, all Grand Canvas wallcovering are certified according to the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. This means they’re free from PVC, heavy metals, and phthalates. To achieve this, we only use water-based inks and coatings. Finally, all products are compliant with a range of statutory environmental requirements worldwide, including the European Union’s REACH regulation.  

HOW DOES A ROLL OF TEXTILE BECOME YOUR WALL?

The yarn for Grand Canvas wallcoverings is spun into a fine, fire-resistant textile and printed on the most advanced printing machines in the world. Digital textile printing is sustainable for several reasons. Colour goes onto the fabric only where the design asks for it, so there are no rinsing baths and no paper waste. It’s a win-win!

The fibre is spun into a luxurious yarn and woven into the textile we print on. Your design is then printed with water-based inks, in one seamless piece, cut to the exact size of your wall. Finally, the textile is processed into a brand new Grand Canvas for you to enjoy.
